We were lucky enough to be invited for an overnight stay at Saii Lagoon which is part of the curio collection by hilton
Located 20 minutes from Male international airport, the journey is quick and extremely comfortable. All guests staying at Saii Lagoon and Hard Rock transfer together and arrive and The Marina@ CROSSROADS.
Hospitable staff from both resorts meet you on arrival with golf buggies. First, they will give you a quick tour of the Marina and explain the great choice of restaurants available and different shopping outlets. The Marine@CROSSROADS is accessible to both resorts as well as outsiders.
Currently, there are 6 restaurants open, but more are planned. This is where the world-famous Hard Rock Cafe is located.
The watersports, dive school, Spa and Kids Club are in the Marina. These are open to the public as well as guests staying in Saii Lagoon. Hard Rock has its own facilities on the resort.
One unique experience is the Maldives Discovery Centre where you can learn about the Maldives culture, traditions and Marine life. It is free and definitely worth a visit.
Upon reaching the reception, the check-in was smooth and efficient. You are greeted with a cool towel and a refreshing welcome drink. The team explain about the meal plans (where you can dine), my favourite part was when the staff took us in their signature M.I.Y(Mix it yourself) Aroma lab, wherein you can create your own scent for your bathroom amenities.
I stayed in one of their Skyroom. It is simple, spacious and stylish. Off the entrance, you have the wardrobe with the iron and iron board in it, electronic safe, beach slippers and soft robes. Next to it is your mini bar with the complimentary tea, coffee and bottles of mineral water. The Minibar is stock with soft drinks and alcoholic beverages on request.
The king-size bed is extremely comfortable with crisp white linen.
A generously sized bathroom with a waterfall shower is right opposite your wardrobe. Hairdryer, towels and inviting scent of bathroom amenities are readily available.
The rooms have a small seating area, large LCD TV which has been set up to display all the resort information, including menus.
To complete the room, Double locking slide doors lead to your private balcony that frames the serene Indian Ocean views. It’s Magnificent!
If you want more spacious room and amenities, you can upgrade to beach villa or stay in their overwater villas for panoramic ocean views. Their stylish two-bedroom overwater villa with private pool is ideal for families or friends.
The fitness the center is in the heart of Saii Lagoon. The building has its own unique design that it looks like a wedding pavilion on the outside.
Saii Lagoon has two main restaurants. Mr Tom Yum, their Thai, Italian fusion with open kitchen and alfresco dining areas and Miss Olive Oyl, poolside Mediterranean seafood grill and bar.
The Pool bar has an excellent vibe, friendly staff, a stunning infinity pool with jacuzzies and ocean view. A variety of Bar snacks are available. It’s a great sunset spot indeed.
Breakfast is served at Café del Mar a@ Crossroads, with indoor and outdoor seating. They offer a huge buffet with a variety of options to dig into. Food is abundant and rich!
Do try the coffee, pastries, sandwiches and homemade ice cream from Bean/c, grab and go. You wont be disappointed.
Pre-booking a Half Board or Full Board meal plan allows you a great choice of restaurants to choose from. Unlike other resorts in the Maldives, your options are not limited to one or two restaurants.
I feel so grateful to have experienced the resort. Inspiring rooms, fantastic and attentive staff, wonderful culinary journey and vibrant ocean culture. A place perfect for you to recharge and indulge. A great resort for both couples and families.
