At the buffet-style restaurant, where the theme changes every night, there’s plenty to tempt all palates. From home-cooked pastries to authentic curries, the dishes guarantee to get your mouth watering.

The approach is simple enough – the resort buys quality, local and regional ingredients (yep, you guessed it, the fish selection is amazing). Let the award-winning chefs do the rest.

For those who want something extra special, the à la carte lobster and steak dinners can be enjoyed in the flower garden or at the water’s edge with the sand between your toes. And don’t forget to enjoy a cocktail in the bar to bring the evening to a perfect close.

Facilities and Activities

Far-flung, quiet and remote, Embudu is the perfect place to unwind and at Serena Spa, they’re experts in the art of relaxation. Now part of the Heaven on Earth brand, Serena Spa is an international wellness group operating spas across the Indian Ocean, and beyond.

The fully trained therapists offer a range of Ayurvedic and Asian massages, alongside a number of indulgent beauty treatments. Perfect for soothing tired muscles after a day’s swimming, don’t you think?

The daily schedule of excursions and activities offer a glimpse of an island nation, where the ocean is at the core of everyday life.

Whether it’s deep sea trawling or the traditional Maldivian hook and line method, fishing is an essential element of local life and a must-try when in the country. The crew members learnt to fish almost as soon as they could walk, so there’s no-one better to teach you how to secure a catch!

The house reef is brimming with life, but that shouldn’t stop you from exploring the ocean further afield. Diverland offers daily snorkelling excursions to the best spots in the region and their experienced guides will make sure you’re in safe hands.

Water Sports
Flex your muscles with a spot of kayaking and if the wind picks up, why not brush up on your windsurfing skills? There’s Stand Up Paddleboarding for those who love to be on the water – you might even spot a stingray or two, as you glide over the lagoon. Bliss!

Island Excursions
Local life in the Maldives is slow and revolves around the good things in life: family, food and fishing. Take a trip to an island village, immerse yourself in a culture where little has changed since early settlement and let the guides escort you through a slice of history.
If you fancy experiencing city life for the afternoon, why not pop over to Male’ for a spot of souvenir shopping and sightseeing? Marvel at the Arabesque architecture of the Islamic Centre, discover the ancient art of Maldivian stonemasonry at the Friday Mosque and browse the colourful souvenir shops as you wander the streets of the exhilarating capital.
Situated a boat ride away from some of the country’s most exciting dive sites, Embudu has it all! So be prepared to tick a few things off your scuba bucket list! Turtles and manta rays? Check. Captivating macro life? Definitely. Dozens of sharks – you bet. What’s more, with the experienced, multi-lingual team at Diverland, the dive centre partner, you’ll be diving and learning with the best.

Closer to home, the house reef is just a short swim from the shore, meaning that by purchasing an Unlimited Diving Pass you can spend as much time below the surface as your dive computer will allow! Once purchased, simply pay a small supplement for a boat dive when you feel like going further afield.

Getting There

Paradise is easier to find than you might think. When you arrive at Velana International Airport, an Embudu team member will be waiting to greet you and to guide you to your transfer vessel. A pleasant 40-minute journey across the ocean and you’ll be standing on the arrival jetty throwing off your shoes.
